Biofarma Príroda & Salaš Stupava: A Taste of Nature and Tradition

This place offers a perfect rural retreat, where you can enjoy fresh air, local food, authentic Slovak culture and spend a day with farm animals! This farm is accessible by car, located about 20-30 minutes away from the city center. You can also take a bus from Bratislava to Stupava, however it takes more than 1 hour and few changes of transport to get there. But it’s not impossible.

This charming organic farm offers a unique opportunity to experience sustainable farming. Here, you can visit the animals learn about organic farming practices, and eat local homemade meals, including traditional halusky. It’s a great spot for families, nature lovers, and anyone interested in fresh, local produce. Don’t forget to enter the local shop here, where you can buy fresh bread, vegetables, homemade desserts, honey and many more. We really enjoyed this trip, in overall it’s a great way to experience the best of rural Slovakia just a short trip from Bratislava.

Castle Devin

Devin Castle sits on a rocky hill where two rivers meet: Morava and Danube. With a history going back over a thousand years, it is one of Slovakia’s oldest castles, dating to the 9th century. The interiors showcase ancient artifacts to medieval weapons. If you’re a history enthusiast, you’ll appreciate the stories of past rulers, battles, and the ever-changing role of Devin Castle in Slovak history. Let’s not forget, because of its location, you can enjoy a stunning views. On a clear day, you can see the Devín Gate, a natural rock formation where the Morava river flows into the Danube. On top of that, Devin Castle is accessible by public transport from Bratislava. Take bus number 29 and enjoy the trip.

Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum

Situated on a picturesque peninsula on the banks of the Danube River, this contemporary art museum combines breathtaking views with thought-provoking exhibits. You can take a direct bus to the museum. From the Slovak National Museum, catch bus number 90 in direction to Danubiana. The museum is designed by the architect Juraj Kováč. The building’s sleek, modern design contrasts beautifully with its natural surroundings, making it an incredible work of art itself. The museum’s collection focuses primarily on contemporary art, with a mix of Slovak, European, and international artists. One of the highlights of Danubiana is its impressive outdoor sculpture park. The park is a great place to relax, reflect on the art, and enjoy the surrounding nature. The Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum offers a perfect combination of art, nature, and relaxation. It’s an ideal destination for anyone looking to unwind and soak in Slovakia’s contemporary art scene.

Győr, Hungary: History, Culture, and Fun at the Aquapark

Just an hour car drive from Bratislava you can find a charming city in Hungary: Győr. It’s a mix of history, culture, and relaxation. For adventure seekers there’s also newly opened aquapark. Go ahead and stroll Győr’s picturesque medieval center and colorful buildings and enjoy a peaceful walk along the Rába River. Last, but not least visit the Aquapark Gyor. It’s a modern water park with slides, pools, and wellness areas. It’s perfect for families or anyone looking to cool off and have some fun.

Senec, Adventure & Relax at the Aquapark

11 slides, 7 pools, crazy river, animations….I could list the attractions for an hour. If it’s scorching sun in Bratislava, pack your swimming suit, towel, UV cream, some snacks and head east. Senec is around a 30-minute drive from Bratislava. What’s more, there are various saunas and whirlpools available, including a Finnish sauna, Eucalyptus steam sauna, and a large whirlpool. The amazing thing is that it is open year-round and offers special events and promotions, such as themed wellness evenings and discounted tickets for online purchases.

Staying a night

We visited all five during our summer break in Bratislava. We stayed within a walking distance to the Danube Museum, at the same time enjoying swimming and sunbathing. The place we stayed is called Camping Divoka Voda. It’s nothing fancy, rather modest, but was enough for us.
