Prague ZOO
Prague Zoo is an absolute must-see with your kids. It’s not the biggest Zoo in the Czech Republic, but definitely the most popular one. According to Trip Advisor, in 2018 Prague Zoo was ranked 5th in the list of the best zoo in the world. While in 2008, Forbes magazine ranked it as the 7th best zoo in the world. So, are you going?

DIRECTIONS
The Prague ZOO is located in Troja district. It’s easily accessible by public transport, with buses running frequently from Nádraží Holešovice metro station. Take bus 234 or 112 in direction to Troja Zoo. No need to worry about getting lost—the names of each stop are displayed inside the bus.
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT HERE
Prague Zoo covers 60 hectares, of which 50 hectares are animal exhibitions. The attractions are countless. You can find here: 15 pavilions and 150 exhibitions. With 4 restaurants and 10 refreshment areas scattered throughout the zoo, there’s no way you’ll get hungry during your visit! And your kids will love playgrounds, a train and way more.

A BIT OF HISTORY
The zoo was first opened in 1931 with 200 animals. After almost 30 years, in 1959 Dr. Zdeněk Veselovský became the director of Prague Zoo. Under his leadership, the zoo established itself among the world’s top zoological parks and achieved significant breeding and scientific successes. Today it boasts 670 species and almost 5,000 animals.
KID-FRIENDLY ATTRACTIONS
One of the highlights for families is the Children’s Zoo, where kids can interact with some animals. Let’s not forget about all the playgrounds kids can find in zoo. Among them – The Bororo Reserve, an adventure playground inspired by South American tribes. It’s a true paradise for kids. I couldn’t get mine out of there.
