Exploring Wrocław with Kids
Wrocław, one of Poland’s top cities, is—perhaps surprisingly—a fantastic destination for a family trip. I’ve visited the city several times solo or with friends, exploring places I probably wouldn’t with kids. When traveling solo, you don’t exactly scout out playgrounds or kid-friendly restaurants, do you? Let’s be honest—traveling with kids is different, but absolutely doable. And Wrocław is another place, where your kids will have fun all way round.
FIND THEM ALL – WROCŁAW’S DWARFS
This suggestion is definitely not to be done in one day, or even over the weekend. It’s not that I want to discourage you, but there’re over 800 dwarfs. If you want to start the quest with your kids and follow the interesting story of the dwarf, go to the Tourist Information. It’s either Centrum Informacji Turystycznej Rynek 14 or Krasnal Info Sukiennice 12, buy a colorful map with stickers and over 60 dwarfs and find them all. Reward awaits.

HYDROPOLIS
It’s an educational and interactive water centre. Hydropolis is an exceptional example of revitalization of a post-industrial facility. The exhibition devoted to water is located in a 19th century underground clean water reservoir. The exhibition is divided into 7 thematic zones, each covering different aspects of water. Additionally, kids can find interactive games, gift shop and multimedia attractions. And adults can grab a cup of coffee in the bistro. You can easily spend here a whole day, I think it took as a bit more than half a day there. Buy your tickets online and reserve your spot in advance.

WROCŁAW ZOO
One of the biggest and most impressive zoos in Poland, Wrocław Zoo is home to hundreds of species, including elephants, big cats, and adorable penguins. Afrykarium, a unique section within the zoo, features stunning underwater tunnels where kids can walk beneath swimming sharks and exotic fish. Reserve whole day here. The zoo is huge and often crowded, but so worth visiting. if you don’t like crowds, avoid weekends and summertime. I also suggest buying tickets online, it’s cheaper and without long lines. During autumn, visit ZOO after dusk, because it offers “Garden of Lights” experience.

MULTIMEDIA FOUNTAIN
It is the largest multimedia fountain in Poland as the structure covers an area of nearly 1 hectare. It is located close to Hala Stulecia and you can get here easily by tram. By the way, it’s really close to the Wrocław’s ZOO. The multimedia fountains offers a great experience: water visualizations synchronized with music are displayed every day. Shows are created from classical to fun contemporary music. When in Wrocław definitely reserve time to do that.

EXHIBITION INVISIBLE HOUSE
The Invisible House is one of seven attractions of this type in the world, that shows the world without the sense of sight. The tour lasts about one hour and takes place in complete darkness, accompanied by the guide. Only for kids older than 9 years old.

SŁODOWA ISLAND
Located on the Odra River, Słodowa Island is a great spot for a relaxing day outdoors. Families can enjoy playgrounds, biking trails, and even occasional open-air performances during the summer.
THE JAPANESE GARDEN
The Japanese Garden in Wrocław is a place rich in symbolism and history, it should bring new experiences and solace. It is designed as a contemplative and walking garden with a paths leading through water features, different gazebos and bridges. One thing is certain: there is always an interesting view of the meticulously planned landscape. Come here whenever you need peace and quiet. If your kid prefer running and jumping, rather go to the nearest playground.
PLAYGROUND
When talking about playgrounds in Wrocław, your kid might like: Plac zabaw Średniowieczny Wrocław, which is located on Rogowska 147, 54-440 Wrocław. It’s unfortunately nowhere near center, but you can get here either by car or by public transport.
To sum up, you don’t need to worry that your kid will be bored in Wrocław, take him/her along and enjoy all the way.
